How Spike & Scale Works

Up to 20% beyond the monthly plan

Blutui allows overages to slide up to 20% past the monthly plan. This provides a degree of flexibility for normal fluctuations in traffic and storage without immediately forcing a plan change or applying additional charges.

Beyond 120%: Autoscaling takes effect

When a site exceeds 120% of its current plan, demand-led autoscaling kicks in to move the project to the next appropriate plan, where available. The intention is to reset the project to a plan that better reflects its actual requirements, without imposing hefty penalties for increased usage.

When a higher plan is not available

If a site exceeds 120% of its current plan but does not qualify for the next available plan, a modest overage charge is applied to the full overage.

This provides a simple and fair mechanism for handling usage that falls between established plan thresholds, while avoiding disproportionate charges.

Real-time plan change advice

Blutui advises agencies of plan changes in real time, helping teams maintain visibility over project usage and understand when infrastructure requirements are changing.
